Newsletter
With the newsletter you have the possibility to reach all registered persons relatively inexpensively, to advertise your website and products in regular intervals and thus to win over customers to visit your website again. In a professional newsletter mailing, statistics are kept on how many recipients clicked on which links within the newsletter and how many unsubscribed from the newsletter after it was sent.
Newsletter programs
Today there are some programs that can create and manage newsletters comfortably. Freeware variants usually have limitations on the number of recipients. Professional solutions can often interact directly with database programs for customer data management. With common mail programs like Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird you can also create and send a newsletter. To do this, you enter the addresses in the BCC recipient list. It is important to note that most providers limit the sending of mails. In addition, a personalization of the mails and a success evaluation is difficult.
Acceptable Email Marketing Policy
The General Data Protection Regulation prescribes bindingly (§7 para. 3 UWG) how to proceed when sending newsletters:

1. an entrepreneur must have received the customer's electronic postal address in connection with the sale of a good or service (Section 7 (3) No. 1 UWG).
2. the entrepreneur uses the address for direct advertising for his own similar goods or services (Section 7 (3) No. 2 UWG).
3. the customer has not objected to the use for advertising purposes (Section 7 (3) No. 3 UWG).
4. the customer was clearly informed when the address was collected and at each use that he can object to the use at any time without incurring transmission costs other than those according to the basic rates (Section 7 (3) No. 4 UWG).

Violations may result in fines of up to €300,000.
