SCHUFA
The SCHUFA is the protective association for general credit security. It is a service company that collects customer information on all aspects of credit-related transactions and passes this on to its members as required.
The sources
SCHUFA normally receives your data from banks and other contractual partners. The customer's consent is mandatory. Public sources, such as the debtor register of the local courts, are another source of information for SCHUFA. The data is deleted between 1 year (inquiries for financial products), after 3 years (loans, credit card accounts, affidavits) and 10 years (discharge of residual debt).
SCHUFA Data storage
SCHUFA stores the following data:

 
Contact data

  • Name, first name, date of birth, gender, (place of birth), (maiden name).
  • current address, previous addresses
Type, subject and terms of payment of the transaction in question.
  • Credit and lease agreements with amount and term
  • Opening of accounts (current account, garnishment protection account).
  • issued credit cards
  • Establishment of a telecommunications account (term contracts)
  • Customer accounts of the trade, mail order.
Deviating payment behavior
  • Receivables that are due, sufficiently dunned and not disputed.
  • Receivables after judicial decision and its settlement.
Abuse
  • Abuse of accounts / credit cards after prohibition of use
Information from public directories, official announcements.
  • Submission of the affidavit (from the debtors' register).
  • Arrest warrant for the submission of the affidavit.
  • Application for / opening of private insolvency proceedings (private insolvency).
  • Rejection, discontinuation of consumer insolvency proceedings due to lack of assets.
