Maestro debit card
The brand belongs to MasterCard. In Austria, the Maestro card is often called Bankomat card, in Germany EC card.
Cobranding
In many countries, the debit card system is equipped with the Maestro functionality. When making payments abroad, the Maestro application is used instead of the national system. The so-called Maestro co-branding can be found on almost all debit cards in Germany. Maestro transactions are exclusively online transactions. V Pay is the European competitor system of VISA.
