Bancontact is the leading e-commerce company in Belgium.
Map distribution
The Bancontact debit card can only be used in connection with a Belgian bank account, but can then be used as a substitute for a credit card both in stationary trade and in online stores. The use of the Bancontact debit card is very popular with merchants, as transactions are guaranteed by the card-issuing bank and therefore there can be no chargebacks that incur costs.
