Accountholder Authentication Value
A term used by MasterCard in the 3-D Secure™ authentication process (MasterCard Secure Code) This procedure can be used to prove that authentication has taken place.
MasterCard
Mastercard Incorporated is a publicly traded payment services provider headquartered in Purchase, New York, USA. Along with VISA, Mastercard is one of the two largest international payment card companies (credit cards, debit cards and credit cards). The product range includes the Mastercard credit card, issued in Europe from 1964 to 2003 as Eurocard, the debit cards Maestro (mainly in Europe), Debit Mastercard or Mastermoney (USA only) and Mastercard electronic (mainly in Eastern Europe and Asia), and the cash withdrawal card Cirrus.
Acquiring licenses and PayerAuthentication
For the issuance of its cards, Mastercard grants licenses to banks (issuing licenses) all over the world. Mastercard is accepted by around 35 million merchants and more than one million cash dispensers worldwide. In Germany, the card is accepted by around 520,000 merchants. In order to be able to track payment security and money transactions, the PayerAuthentication TransactionRequest/Responses messages are recorded and sent to the MasterCard AuthenticationHistoryServer.
