Prepaid card - Usually, the card can be purchased as an anonymous card in offline shops (kiosks, petrol stations) and then used to pay on the Internet.
The prepaid cards are offered either as an open card for many merchants (e.g. PaysafeCard) or as a credit card for selected sites e.g. gaming or music sites or streaming services. The prepaid card is only suitable for micropayments or digital goods, as accepting payments via prepaid cards incurs discount costs of around 20% for the merchant.
Only very few cards store the credit directly on the card. Only if there is no online connection to a clearing house is it stored on a chip or magnetic strip. If the card is lost, there is usually no way to block the card, since the deposit and use were made anonymously and the card can therefore not be assigned to a person.
