Nickname
Pseudonym / fantasy name (like a mask), which should hide the identity for the time being - or in the long run - but also invites communication. Especially in chats or discussion forums you get a nickname, like "gold 33" or "einstein09" etc..
Privacy
For data protection reasons, it is often advisable not to use your real name. The Telemedia Act stipulates that the protection of personal data must be ensured: "The service provider must enable the use of telemedia and their payment anonymously or under a pseudonym, insofar as this is technically possible and reasonable. The user shall be informed of this possibility".
