Luhn
Verification algorithm that makes it possible to verify the authenticity of a credit card number.
How it works
A check digit generated by the Luhn algorithm is used to verify the incomplete identification number. For this purpose, the numbers are read from right to left and every second digit is doubled. If this results in a value greater than 9, 9 is subtracted. The sum must result in a 0 as the last digit, otherwise it is considered invalid. Thus, a kind of cross sum of the number is calculated, with special consideration of the second digit.
