Contract company number
The contract company number is used to identify the credit card acceptance contract that the merchant has concluded with his acquirer. With a contract company number, the merchant can contact a payment service provider to submit the relevant transactions to the credit card companies.
Retail, mail order and internet
The Merchant Number is usually sent to you by your payment provider or payment service provider after the conclusion of an acceptance contract. A distinction is made here between stationary trade (retail trade), mail order or sales made via the Internet. The VU number enables the settlement of transactions in e-commerce as well as in offline areas.
Internet and VU number
An acceptance contract that was concluded for retail or mail order does not necessarily apply to Internet business. Therefore, it is essential for merchants to know for which area of use and type of sale the Merchant Number was assigned. Your payment provider can help you here.
