American Express
Credit card brand and name of the financial service provider of the same name that issues credit cards and concludes a Credit Card Acceptance Agreement with merchants so that they can accept American Express (AmEx) cards.
Special features
Some cards are offered selectively to certain customers, i.e. the customer cannot apply for the card on his own initiative. To obtain a (black) American Express Centurion Card, the customer must first generate a high six-figure annual turnover over a period of years via another Amex card. Only then does American Express invite the customer to the corresponding card. Holders of this card enjoy special support from a personal contact person.
Bonus programs
In Germany, American Express offers its customers the Membership Rewards bonus program, which means that credit card holders who participate in it ücan earn points via the use of their credit card. This is included in the price of some cards, while it can be booked for an additional charge with other cards.
